Programmes

Everything we run, free of charge

There is no fee, no application and no eligibility test for any of this. If you live in the community and you want it, it is yours. Come to the library, or get in touch.

Pillar one

Learning support

Keeping students in school, helping them through their exams, and making sure they know what their options actually are when school ends.

Classes VI–XII

Free tuition

Study support for the subjects students find hardest, taught in the evenings so it fits around school. Open to every student in the community at no cost.

6–7 pm, Monday to Saturday
All grades

TNPSC exam preparation

Coaching for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission examinations across all grades, with study material in Tamil available through our resources page.

Daily, from 2 pm

College admission guidance

Help understanding admission procedures, deadlines and eligibility — so that a place is never lost to a form filled in late or a rule nobody explained.

What after +2?

A guided look at the study and work options open to a student after higher secondary, including routes that families often do not know exist.

Educational workshops

Sessions on critical life skills led by experts in their field, held at the library and open to students and parents alike.

Online resources

A curated set of free learning platforms, exam material and career guidance documents that students can use from the library computers or from home.

Pillar two

Career & livelihood

A degree is not a job. This is the work of turning a qualification into an income — the skills, the confidence and the contacts that a first-generation graduate has to build from scratch.

Job skills

Building job-ready technical and vocational skills that improve employability in the roles actually hiring in the region.

Soft skills

Developing the communication needed to get through group discussions and interviews — usually the point at which capable candidates from our community fall away.

Job search

Access to government and private job-search resources and the trainings attached to them, with help navigating applications.

Job training & entrepreneurship

Short courses in IT, bridal make-up and other trades, plus support in creating work-from-home opportunities for those who cannot travel to work.

Mentoring by professionals

Guest lectures and mentoring sessions by working professionals, delivered in partnership with specialist non-profit institutions in the region and abroad.

Leadership hub

Material and sessions aimed at students ready to take on responsibility — in their college, their workplace or their village.

Pillar three

Community support

Education rarely stops because a student stopped trying. It stops because of a fee, an illness, a form nobody filled in. This is the work of removing those obstacles.

Scholarships

Access to the full list of government, minority and private scholarships, with help identifying which ones a student qualifies for and applying before the deadline.

Social security & support

Help claiming government pensions and other entitlements, including support towards marriage costs and medical emergencies.

Women’s empowerment

Initiatives aimed at women in the community — skills training, income opportunities that can be pursued from home, and dedicated library hours.

Awareness sessions

Practical sessions on the things that quietly cost families most: banking fraud, nutrition and childcare.
