Talent is spread evenly. Opportunity is not. Thiruponathar Trust gives young people in our community the guidance, coaching and resources that ability alone cannot provide — free of charge, and open to everyone.

What we do

From a school desk to a first salary. Our work follows a young person through the whole journey, because the gaps that stop them rarely appear one at a time.

The heart of the trust
Abdulkhader Jainallaudeen Memorial Library
A free public library and reading room in Rajagambiram, named for our founder’s father. It holds a large collection of books in Tamil and English, daily newspapers, magazines and international journal subscriptions — alongside free computers and internet access for anyone who needs them.
It is also where the trust gathers: career guidance workshops, job-training sessions and guest lectures all happen here.

Why this trust exists
A first-generation graduate who never forgot the climb
Our founder lost his father at the age of thirteen. His mother toiled in the hot sun to raise him and his two younger siblings, and he pursued his education holding on to nothing but hope and merit. He went on to a career as a central banker and developmental economist, retiring as Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
He knew what it was to have ability and no one to point the way. This trust is his answer to that gap.
Thiruponathar Trust exists to stimulate young people in local communities to realise their potential, through guidance and mentoring delivered in partnership with specialist non-profit institutions in the region and around the world.

A working professional who can sit with students for an hour changes what they believe is possible. Teach a subject, run a workshop, or take a mock interview.
